Keen walkers are wanted as East Cheshire Hospice launchesits annual Hike The Hill fundraising event.
The series of walks centre on Macclesfield beauty spot Tegg’sNose Country Park and take place on Sunday, September 14.
Hospice events fundraiser Nicola Burn said: “We are delighted tobe holding Hike The Hill again as we have had so much demand for itafter last year’s successful walks. We are also thrilled that OrbitDevelopments are again sponsoring the event, their continuedsupport means every penny raised goes directly to supporting ourpatients. “
“So now we are encouraging walkers to sign up on our website fortheir registration pack and look forward to a day of fantasticviews, good exercise and, of course, helping the hospice at thesame time.”
There are three routes available so hikers can pick the one tomatch their ability.
The longest 25km route is aimed at seasoned hikers and sets offat 8am, which is expected to take about six hours to complete.
Keen ramblers are encouraged to choose the 17km route departingfrom Tegg’s Nose at 10am, which is expected to take four hours towalk.
And families fancying something a little shorter can choose thetwo-hour route covering 4.4km, which sets off at midday.
Nicola said: “Our hospice mascot Sunny the Dog will be on handto wish walkers luck as they set off on their hikes, and he’ll bewelcoming them back at the end for a well-deserved barbecue andlively entertainment.”
“So dust off your walking boots, pack the Kendal mint cake andsign up today for a great day out in some of the most beautifulhills in the area as well as woodland stretches through theMacclesfield Forest.”
Adult registration is £12 per person, children aged six to 15are £5 per person and a family of two adults and two children costs£30. Each walker will receive a hospice T-shirt to wear on the dayand top tips on how to raise as much money as possible for thehospice.
