A leading Stockport-based video business has moved from Reddish to the town centre to take advantage of managed office solutions at Regent House, owned and managed by Orbit Developments.

Bellyflop TV has established itself as a high quality film maker with output including TV programmes for mainstream broadcasters. They also produce videos for company websites, events, tenders and even award bids.

The creative company started in 2008 and has produced almost 2000 videos for a wide range of customers including Butlin’s Holiday Resorts, Stockport and Rochdale councils and Findel Education.

The business has moved to a suite on the tenth floor of Regent House. “The space is just right for us,” said Jonathan. “Our new office provides us with plenty of room to edit our videos, store our equipment and accommodate visiting clients who often come to our office to watch their films being edited.”

He added: “Being in the centre of Stockport is also better for our business. Some of our existing clients are actually based in Regent House, and since moving here we’ve taken on a new member of staff, a student at the college which is located just up the road.”

Bellyflop is particularly active in the local community, and has a YouTube channel dedicated to the town called Stockport Online.

“It’s our way of giving a bit back,” said Jonathan. “I love Stockport; the town centre is vibrant and it has an excellent business community, with groups like Marketing Stockport and Stockport Hour promoting relationships and trade.”

Working in filmmaking isn’t a 9-5 job. Due to the nature of their business, the Bellyflop team often work unsociable hours; Regent House’s 24/7 access facility is one of the reasons that Jonathan was attracted to the Orbit Developments property. He explained: “We are often out filming late in the day and sometimes have to edit through the night when we have tight deadlines. The fact that we can access our new office 24 hours a day is great for us. We weren’t able to do this before.”

Jonathan spoke highly of his experience with Orbit Developments. “The team have been fantastic on the ground here. We first toyed with the idea of moving office several months ago, but Orbit weren’t pushy; they were on hand to answer my questions and allowed me all the time I needed to consider my options.”

Tony Jones, Managing Director of Orbit Developments, said that high energy, creative businesses were increasingly attracted to the town centre. “Our small office suites, flexible accessibility and sense of community at Regent House is designed specifically to support businesses like Bellyflop. We wish Jonathan every success.”

Jonathan concluded: “Moving office for small businesses can sound daunting, but it’s been really straightforward thanks to Orbit Developments. The costs are straight forward, parking is good and we’ve had a terrifically warm welcome from neighbouring businesses. It’s been a very positive experience.”
