Top retailers race to join Aintree Racecourse Retail Park

Property developers Orbit Developments have announced three highstreet names joining the line up at Aintree Racecourse Retail Parkin the coming weeks; TK Maxx and JD Sports will join existingretailers at the popular park which already includes; Costa Coffee,O2, Next Home, Laura Ashley and Homebase amongst others.

Clothing retailer TK Maxx has taken to a 20,000 sq ft retailunit on a 15 year lease.  The well known discount brand hasover 265 stores across the UK and Ireland. A typical store has over50,000 items in stock and receives 10,000 new pieces a week.

Helen Gunter from TK Maxx commented: “We are very excited to beopening up a new store and bringing Aintree shoppers savings of upto 60% off the RRP on great brands and labels for all the familyunder one roof.”

Joining TK Maxx is the UK’s leading trainer and sports fashionretailer, JD Sports who has taken an 8,030 sq ft retail unit on a10 year lease. With 330 stores a spokesperson from JD commented:”Aintree Racecourse is an ideal location to add a new store to ourexpanding brand. The location, ease of access and range ofretailers is a perfect mix for a successful shop.”

Landlord Orbit Developments have re-elevated the shop front aspart of an on-going modernisation programme for the park andre-configured the units which were previously occupied by JJB andCarpetright , to accommodate the new tenants. 

Major coffee chain Costa Coffee which is the UK’s largest andfastest growing, recently opened a 1,851 sq ft drive thru unittaking a 15yr lease. Drive thru’s are increasingly on the rise astime pressed consumers create the need for such a service.

Mark Hanna, Senior Retail Leasing Surveyor at Orbit Developmentscommented: “We are delighted to welcome these major retailers toAintree Racecourse Retail Park. The additions are a significantboost for the park and to our clientele and the local area. Theretail park has seen considerable growth this year with footfallsteadily increasing as we improve the line-up.”

Mark continued: “Aintree Business Park has also enjoyed a bumper12 months with lettings secured with six tenants from around the UKincluding GSF Car Parts, PH Jones Ltd, National Lighting, ChadburnsPT Ltd and Greenfox Solutions. Existing tenants Eriks IndustrialServices have recently expanded into a larger facility.

DFS have also recently signed a lease for warehouse space for a5,360 sq.ft.
