It’s not only Frogs that are making the jump into Stockport town centre this year, as Orbit Developments sees continued strong activity in office lettings market. The last few months have seen leases completed and space put under offer in 6 of Orbits 11 town centre properties.
Colas Rail, Europe’s leading supplier of railway infrastructure services, have relocated from Manchester City Centre into just over 4000sqft at Orbit’s Regent House, whilst bennettbrooks IT have moved from Didsbury to support growth in employee numbers.
Greg Stanton Director at bennettbrooks IT commented that: “We had been looking at Stockport town centre for a while. It offers a great combination of both road and rail connectivity, so when a suite became available in Regent House we were keen to secure the space and work with Orbit to shape it to our needs – it’s the perfect spot for a growing business and well compliments our portfolio of locations across the region.”
Existing Stockport company DigitalID have expanded their operation by taking 3,200sqft at another Orbit property, Grosvenor House, across the road from Stockport College. Whilst Ween Semiconductors have taken 1323sqft in Beckwith House, relocating from Hazel Grove.
Rhys Owen, Leasing Director at Orbit Developments comments: “The well documented changes that have taken place in Stockport town centre has certainly
helped to drive interest in the area. We are now starting to have the tools we need to help inform businesses of the benefits of having high quality affordable office space in the town centre.
Having a wide portfolio also enables us to present options and often by thinking creatively, means a deal can be achieved that all sides can take forward.”
Elsewhere in the town centre Orbit currently have over 22,500sqft under offer, showing the next few months show a continuation of high demand.
