The multi-award-winning Runaway Brewery opened their doors on the 13th April and have had an amazing response from the local community.
The brewery, who make traditional British beer by hand, relocated from the Green Quarter in Manchester to a central Stockport town centre location overlooking the River Mersey, and close to Orbit buildings Regent House and Beckwith House. The move is part of their long-term plan to invest in both the brewery and their wider community, and after a year of planning, design and refurbishment between Runaway and Orbit Developments, it’s great to hear about the amazing feedback the brewery has received.
A refurbishment of the property transformed the former sheet metal works mill into a ground floor brewery and taproom, with a glass partition for visitors to see the onsite brewing process and a bottle shop for customers to enjoy Runaway Brewery at home.

Runaway Brewery’s founder Mark Welsby said “It’s fair to say things have been a bit of a whirlwind here in the last week, an amazing response from the local community, we really couldn’t have hoped for a warmer welcome. The crowd we’ve had through the door have been a real mix and the feedback’s been entirely positive.”
