UK fashion retailer River Island opens new concept store atMiddlebrook Retail and Leisure Park in Bolton, signifying growthand success within a hard-hitting market.
The North West store, opened on Saturday 12thNovember and occupies over 7,000 sq ft on a 10 year lease andemploys over 30 staff members with a further 20 to be employed overthe busy Christmas period.
The new design which has been successfully rolled out acrossselected stores throughout the UK features a loft-style interiorwith exposed brickwork and concrete floors. Its fascia features awhite insignia with a contemporary white design with lights cutinto the lettering. The unique store also benefits from a new girlsand boys clothing range.
Mark Hanna, senior retail leasing surveyor at Orbit Developmentssaid, “We’ve been working hard to strengthen our fashion line upand we are delighted to be welcoming a retail giant like RiverIsland to Middlebrook. The retail park has seen considerable growththis year with footfall increasing by 8.3% since January. I amconfident River Island’s arrival will be a significant boost forthe retail park and will increase dwell times and as well asattracting new customers to the business park”.
The landmark store will provide sustainable employment for thelocal community and is the largest leisure, sports and retailscheme in the North West. As one of Orbit’s most successfuldevelopments to date, Middlebrook Retail Park comprises a total of639,085 sq ft of retail space let to a variety of tenants includingNext, Marks & Spencer, Laura Ashley, Boots and Argos.
