Park Square: Orbit Developments Completes Letting to Engineering Company

Orbit Developments has let 9,720 sq ft of office accommodationat Park Square in Cheadle, to US-owned engineering consultancy,Jacobs Engineering.

Following a contract win earlier this year the company willrelocate part of its operations, including 70 staff, to Park Squarefrom its North West base at Cheadle Royal Business Park.

Tony Jones, managing director of Orbit Developments, commented:”Jacobs Engineering is one of the world’s largest and most diverseproviders of professional technical services. After more than adecade in the region, it is a significant boost for Stockport thata company of its stature has chosen to remain in the borough by notonly moving to Park Square but also expanding its operations aswell.”

Park Square is one of south Manchester’s biggest officebuildings, with one of the largest single floor plates in theregion. The 133,000 sq ft office building underwent a majorrefurbishment to its reception area and office suites earlier thisyear. To date, Orbit has invested approximately £1.6 million in thesix-storey office building.

Councillor Dave Goddard, leader of Stockport Council, said:”It’s great news that an international company like Jacobs haschosen to expand its operations and continue to invest inStockport. It’s a testament to the excellent offer at Park Square,as well as the borough’s skilled workforce and unrivalled transportlinks.” 

Orbit is one of the largest commercial landlord’s in theStockport area with a total floor area of 438,447 sq ft across 11buildings. Key developments include Regent House, an 11-storeyoffice development, totaling 102,950 sq ft and Beckwith House, anine-storey building, totaling 35,050 sq ft.
