5b Parklands Progress

Orbit Developments have started work on the latest office development at Parklands, Middlebrook, Bolton.

Following the move of online electrical retailer AO.com into Parklands 5A, construction has started on the neighbouring plot of land to build Parklands 5B at the high profile business park.

The commercial property development now extends to over 200 acres and includes offices, industrial and retail space. Conveniently located, Middlebrook offers easy access to the M61 motorway and is well connected to public transport links with its own train station, Horwich Parkway and served by a number of local bus routes. The business park is also located opposite the home of Bolton Wanderers, the Macron Stadium.

The proposed new office building, Parklands 5B will be of high quality specification and set over 5 floors. The property will total 48,550 sq ft (4,510 sq m) with ample car parking, making it an ideal opportunity for any large business looking for a new office headquarters.

In addition, the property offers the benefit of being self-contained and a bespoke fit-out will also be available, allowing businesses to create the perfect space for their business needs. Orbit Developments aim to complete construction of the shell of the building by Spring 2016.

Tony Jones, Managing Director at Orbit Developments commented:
‘We are excited to be commencing work on this new development. It not only demonstrates our commitment to the area and Middlebrook scheme, but is also an indication of the strengthening economy.’

‘With excellent infrastructure, a range of onsite amenities for staff and neighbouring businesses including AO.com and AXA Insurance, we believe Parklands 5B will attract a number of large corporate businesses looking to open a Northern office.’

Other office occupiers on the business park already include The Royal Bank of Scotland Group, E.on and Keoghs who are just as few of the well-known companies who appreciate the benefits that Middlebrook has to offer.

Chris Cheap, Senior Director at Bilfinger GVA commented:

‘Parklands is an established office destination which has consistently appealed to occupiers who are looking for the perfect mix of accessibility, amenity and the right working environment.’

‘The new development is the only speculative office building under construction in Greater Manchester outside of the city centre and is certain to appeal to a wide range of businesses across the UK.’
