The sun shone for East Cheshire Hospice’s 80 walkers at Hike theHill on Sunday 8th September.
Tegg’s Nose Country Park in Macclesfield provided a stunningvenue for their annual sponsored walk. Walkers were able to enjoythe breath taking views across the Cheshire Plains and see as faras the Welsh Hills thanks to the beautiful clear day.
With three circular walks setting off throughout the day theywere delighted to be joined by families for the first time thisyear, who enjoyed the 4.4km Tegg’s Nose Trail. To mark theirspecial 25th Anniversary they included a gruelling 25kmroute, which involved hiking to the summit of Shutlingsloe andTegg’s Nose!
Walkers completed the routes in record time with their youngestparticipant in the 25km, 13 year old James Martin, first back withhis mum and dog Misty!
Walkers enjoyed a warming cup of tea and delicious burger fromthe BBQ on their return.
The Hospice has to raise over 80% of its costs form donationsand fundraising, events like Hike the Hill help to raise the £6,000that is needed every single day just to keep the Hospice’s doorsopen.
