Stockport’s largest commercial landlord, Orbit Developments, isinvesting £10,000 in the town by supporting three key events takingplace this year – Headlander Festival, Life Leisure’s 10k Run andthe Stockport Business Awards.
The trio of sponsorships are part of Orbit Developments’ ongoingcommitment to promote Stockport as a great place to work, live anddo business.
Tony Jones, Managing Director of OrbitDevelopments, explained:
“We have 12 properties in Stockport Town Centre alone, along withmany more in the borough so we are extremely committed to the area.I think the borough has a lot to offer for businesses, residentsand visitors which is the reason why we wanted to support thesefantastic initiatives. These events are helping to raise awarenessof the great things the town has to offer.
“This is our first year sponsoringHeadlander Festival and the Life Leisure 10k Run. We believe bothevents are a real asset to Stockport, providing great family funevents that will bring in people from across the North West tovisit and spend time in Stockport.”
The Headlander Festival is a musicfestival at Stockport Rugby Club in Bramhall. It offers 80 hours oflive music from 85 acts including Toploader and Stooshe along withfamily fun activities and events all set in 15 acres of Cheshirecountryside.
Initially inspired by the LondonOlympics, Life Leisure’s 10k run is now in its third year and hasgrown significantly since the first event. The aim is to draw morepeople in Stockport into participating in sporting events and with500 people estimated to take part; the event is proving to bepopular with local residents. As well as sponsoring the event,Orbit have two teams entering so be sure to look out for theirrunners!
The Stockport Business Awards remainsa highlight for the Borough and attracts hundreds of businesses andgreat entries every year.

As one of the four main sponsors ofthe event, Orbit specifically sponsor the award for Business of theYear with £1m-5m turnover.
