Orbit Developments has let 17,500 sq ft of office space at ParkSquare, Cheadle to On the Beach Limited – a leading online retailerof beach holidays. Founded in 1995, On the Beach provides customerswith value for money holidays to popular beach destinations sendingover 700,000 customers away each year.
As part of the 10 year deal, On the Beach will relocate 150employees from their current Didsbury base to Park Square whichwill act as their new UK headquarters. The move comes aftersignificant expansion of the business which offers holidays to morethan 30,000 hotels across the world for singles, couples andfamilies. Park Square allows On the Beach to house an expandingtravel call centre and administration facilities on one singlefloor plate which was an essential requirement.
On the Beach are the latest tenants to move into the buildingsince the £1.6 million refurbishment programme completed in 2011.Other tenants include engineering firm Jacobs, Royal Mail andWelspun who are the supplier of the UK’s No. 1 branded towel,’Christy’.
Rhys Owen, leasing surveyor at Orbit Developments, commented:”We have seen a real demand for Park Square since the first highprofile client moved in. Park Square is one of south Manchester’s biggest officebuildings, with one of the largest single floor plates in theregion. The 133,000 sq ft office building underwent a majorrefurbishment to its reception area and office suites earlier thisyear. To date, Orbit has invested approximately £1.6 million in thesix-storey office building.
