Orbit Developments is proud to announce that it will be a majorsponsor of the MacclesfieldBarnaby Festival this summer’s weekend festival.

“This is wonderful news,” says Festival Chair, Lynne Jones.”Orbit Development’s financial support will go a long way towardsfacilitating some of the exciting events in this year’s BarnabyFestival, particularly the vibrant street parade so popular withcommunity groups last year, as well as other imaginative andcreative activities for children. Orbit’s sponsorship is a tributeto the enormous hard work, dedication and dogged determination ofthe whole Barnaby team which made last year’s festival such asuccess.”

Barnaby Festival is a modern revival of a tradition thatcelebrates the feast day of St Barnabas, dating back to the13th century. Last year Barnaby was reinvented by agroup of volunteers as a weekend festival of arts and culture,showcasing both Macclesfield’s creative talent and its historictown centre.

The £5,000 contribution towards the cost of Barnaby 2011 comesat a crucial time for Festival planning. “We’re absolutely thrilledto have Orbit on board,” says Ian Musgrave, Barnaby Treasurer. “Welook forward to working with them as a key partner in thesedifficult financial times.”

Tony Jones, Managing Director of Orbit Developments, says:”Orbit has been a part of Macclesfield’s businesscommunity for over 20 years and we are delighted to be involvedand support the celebrations. There was a fantastic response to the first Barnaby Festival in2010 that involved 2000 active participants and a range and qualityof performances, exhibitions and activities never before seen inMacclesfield.
