Acuma Moves it’s Northern Office to Stockport

Acuma Solutions Limited, part of the Saksoft Group, leading specialists in Information Management and Business Intelligence, has relocated its Northern office to Stockport.

The 4530sq ft office, based on the second floor in Applicon House, will complement the company’s sales operation in London and accommodate staff involved in Digital Transformation and Information Management projects across the UK and overseas.

Trading for just over 20 years, Acuma was previously based in Baguley and works with a variety of blue chip clients from the public and private sector. These range from States of Jersey, Manchester and Stoke City Councils to Marks and Spencer, Astra Zeneca and the British Film Industry.

Acuma provides a complete stack of services to help customers develop a competitive edge in a fast-changing digital world, including consulting, strategy, building data-warehouses, analytics, plus training and post-life support.

Acuma’s Jonathan Eeley, Director of Consulting and Public Sector Head, said they had chosen central Stockport for its excellent transport links, especially trains to London and Manchester, good location of the office building and attractive deal.

He said: “It is a well-finished, modern and yet cosy environment, with plenty of natural light and space.  When we first walked in to view the existing configuration was also pretty spot on for our needs.”

The office will remain largely open-plan in keeping with Acuma’s collaborative culture and work ethic and there will be meeting and training rooms.

Jonathan again: “We run a lot of education courses for clients so flexibility and options here were important. We also need space to grow the team – there is room here for 10 more people in time.”

The company is currently looking to recruit graduate trainees with good communication and SQL programming skills.

Jonathan added: “Orbit has been helpful throughout the process, working with us and helping us settle in.

“Parking here is also good, it’s easy for us to venture into the town and nice to walk around.”

The new workspace is situated in Stockport town centre and is close to the new Stockport Exchange development which provides a new NCP carpark, Sainsbury’s convenience store and has enhanced the public realm areas surrounding the train station.

Rhys Owen, Leasing Director for Orbit Developments commented:

“We are delighted to welcome a company of Acuma’s calibre to Applicon House and the town centre.

“We have seen major redevelopment in Stockport over the past 3 years with Redrock, Stockport Exchange and the work in Stockport Old Town and it’s these positive news stories of improvements and changes that are attracting new businesses to the area.

“We know Stockport was just one of the locations in Greater Manchester that Acuma Solutions were considering relocating to, so it’s a fantastic accolade for the town to come out on top.”

Acuma Solutions joins a growing hub of digital and information management professionals in Stockport.

Acuma’s employees will also benefit from Orbit’s unique SKone card which provides people with discounts and offers from a range of local shops and service providers. The town centre will also soon benefit from the opening of Redrock, a new retail and leisure scheme bringing Pizza Express, Mango Bean Coffee, Zizzi and The Light cinema into Stockport.
