Since opening its first store in 1982, Waterstones has grown into the UK’s leading bookseller, with more than 300 stores across the UK, Ireland and Europe. The opening at Middlebrook reflects the company’s continued investment in creating inspiring spaces that bring communities together through a shared love of reading.

Owned and managed by Orbit Developments, Middlebrook continues to strengthen its retail and leisure offer, and the arrival of Waterstones marks an important milestone for the destination. The opening means that all units at Middlebrook are now fully let, following a number of high-profile additions and relocations during 2026, including Popeyes, Rituals and Boots’ move to a new store within the retail park. Looking ahead, Marks & Spencer is currently undertaking a major transformation of its Middlebrook store, expanding into two additional units and constructing an extension to create a brand-defining full-line store. The enhanced store is expected to open in 2027, further reinforcing Middlebrook’s position as one of the region’s leading retail destinations.
Waterstones is open from 9am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and Sunday 10.30am to 5pm.
