Macclesfield Business group attends CEC draft strategy meeting

Macclesfield Means Business was recently invited to represent the voices of Macclesfield based businesses at the Cheshire East Council consultation meeting at Macclesfield Town Hall regarding the future of the town centre.

The regeneration strategy which was announced in the Macclesfield Express in November, is being headed up by the CEC, Cushman & Wakefield, Open and WSP and aims to take advantage of Macclesfield’s heritage, architecture and existing assets to revitalise the town centre and inject new life into the area through increased residential, leisure and evening economy opportunities.

Once the feedback has been collated, the revised plan will go to public consultation in early 2019 giving all businesses the opportunity to comment and provide their thoughts on the strategy.

Boasting award winning and nationally recognised Macclesfield-based companies as some of its members, Macclesfield Means Business were keen to provide the opinions of its members to ensure business needs were taken into consideration within the new plan.

The business group has rapidly grown since its launch in November 2019 and has positioned itself as an authoritative and leading business group within the area, positively promoting business success in Macclesfield.

Members include the 160-year-old family owned company Arighi Bianchi in addition to Quint Group; Embrace Marketing, Pinches Medical and Forest Distillery.

The unique group is exclusively aimed at Macclesfield based businesses and holds quarterly breakfast events discussing current and relevant topics for local businesses, touching on areas such as recruitment, business growth and staff retention and satisfaction.

The main aims of the group are to build quality relationships, provide an online portal and to promote the town’s commercial success. Key partners include Orbit Developments, Big Brand Idea, Harts, SAS Daniels, Fourth, Natwest, Axon and Arighi Bianchi.
