Orbit Developments is the commercial arm of The Emerson Group and was set up to complement the Group's residential business and to create a financially secure, long-term base for the group by the development and retention of commercial investment properties.

The foundations of our business are traditional offices and industry but we constantly seek out opportunities to develop, redevelop and refurbish sites. This has lead to the extension of and the creation of business parks, stand alone offices, business units, industrial and distribution warehouses.

Construction work for the division is primarily undertaken by our sister company, Jones Contracts , whilst management of its properties is undertaken by Emerson Management Services . During the early years the company concentrated primarily on offices and industrial premises. However, in recent years we have expanded our activities in order to create a balanced investment portfolio by constructing major leisure, retail and mixed-use developments such as Middlebrook in Bolton and The Lowry, Salford Quays which are diverse, sustainable and offer potential for significant growth in future years.

Orbit's success is attributable to an enviable reputation not only for designing and building high quality developments but also maintaining excellent landlord/tenant relationships which has resulted in repeat business with many of our existing tenants, together with adding value to the portfolio.
