Providing quality commercial
property for 35 years
Orbit Developments was established in 1971 and is the Commercial arm of
The Emerson Group
. Orbit Developments was set up to complement the Group’s residential business and to create a financially secure, long-term base for the group by the development and retention of commercial investment properties. Orbit Developments is one of the largest private commercial property development and investment companies operating in the North West and South East England.
Construction work for the division is primarily undertaken by its sister company,
Jones Contracts
, whilst management of its properties is undertaken by
Emerson Management Services
. During its early years the company concentrated primarily on offices and industrial premises. However, in recent years the Orbit Developments has expanded its activities in order to create a balanced investment portfolio by constructing major leisure, retail and mixed-use developments such as
Middlebrook
in Bolton and
The Lowry
, Salford Quays which are diverse, sustainable and offer potential for significant growth in future years.
Orbit Developments has experienced locally based development teams which have been actively involved in the acquisition, planning, construction and letting of a diverse range of commercial developments over the last 35 years.
Orbit’s success is attributable to its enviable reputation not only for designing and building high quality developments but also maintaining an excellent landlord/tenant relationship which has resulted in repeat business with many of its existing tenants, together with adding value to the portfolio.
The company retains the vast majority of these developments as long term investments within its portfolio, in addition to actively managing them.
The current UK portfolio consists of over 6 million square feet (560,000 sq.m) combining:
• 160 individual office buildings
• 37 retail schemes, ranging from single shops to out of town retail parks and shopping centers
• 39 industrial properties
• 2,000+ tenants
